Arthurs Pass New Zealand walks - how far do I have to walk?

Arthurs Pass New Zealand walks. Our guided walking (hiking) tours are all about enjoying the amazing environment of New Zealand's Southern Alps.  There is never any pressure to walk at a certain pace, either fast or slow.  We take plenty of breaks along the way, it certainly is not a race!

How far do I have to walk?

A fair question we agree. The entire distance of your guided walk is 5-6 kilometres (3-4 miles) with a total vertical climb of around 200 metres. The track is well formed and easy to follow but there are some places where you must walk on rocks, tree roots or through running water. We provide walking poles and your guide will always be on hand to help you. We have been running Arthurs Pass National Park walking tours for 4 years now and have walkers from 7 to 70 and everyone has made it!

If you do a little walking each week, even around a city, and the idea of walking at an easy pace for 3-4 hours does not bother you then you will be fine!
